Public Health Scotland (PHS) publish information gathered from the 2019 General Practice workforce survey.  This information was originally due to be published in 2020, however it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey does not provide rural specific information.

Issue of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2 covering the period  2021-23 was issued to support the delivery of the 2018 GP contract, specifically the transfer of the provision of services from general practice to HSCP/Health Boards. It seeks to clarify many contract related issues.

The Scottish Government publish Under Graduate Medical Education in Scotland The report, authored by Prof John Gillies,  recommends how undergraduate medical education in Scotland can be increased by enabling more General Practice based teaching in Primary Care.
